Our Story

Introducing flavors from West Africa to the food truck scene to bring authentic and modern twists to traditional dishes. R&B Eatery's journey began in 2017, when founders embarked on a mission to bring the rich and diverse tastes of African cuisine to the streets of Austin, Texas. Starting with a small menu of signature dishes, they "experimentally fused traditional African spices with contemporary street food.

An early milestone for R&B Eatery was their inclusion in the 2018 Austin Street Eats Festival lineup, where they showcased a blend of classic and innovative African dishes to rave reviews.

The Teye Family

Hello! My name is Raymond Teye, and together with my family, we are proud to introduce our food truck business, a stepping stone towards realizing our dream of opening a luxury Ghanaian restaurant. We are The TEYE's, and our journey is rooted in our rich Ghanaian heritage and a deep passion for culinary excellence.

Our Background

Originally from Ghana, my wife and I have always cherished our culture and traditions, especially when it comes to food. Cooking has been a lifelong passion of mine, and it has always been my dream to share the vibrant and diverse flavors of Ghanaian cuisine with the world. I served in the US Army for seven years, a period that taught me discipline, resilience, and the importance of pursuing one’s dreams.

Currently, I am enrolled in an Information Technology program, but my heart has always been in the kitchen. I plan to switch my studies to culinary arts soon to further hone my skills and knowledge in the field I am most passionate about.

The Inspiration Behind Our Food Truck

The idea of starting a food truck came to life after I lost my job as a supervisor. Instead of viewing this setback as a defeat, I saw it as an opportunity to finally embark on the journey I had always dreamed of. A food truck felt like the perfect starting point – a way to bring authentic Ghanaian flavors to our community while laying the foundation for our future restaurant.

Our Journey So Far

Starting the food truck business has been both challenging and rewarding. From sourcing authentic ingredients to perfecting our recipes, every step has been a labor of love. The support from our community has been overwhelming, and it has reinforced our belief in the uniqueness and appeal of Ghanaian cuisine.

Our Vision

Our ultimate goal is to open a luxury Ghanaian restaurant, a place where people can experience the true essence of Ghanaian hospitality and culinary artistry. We aim to create a dining experience that is not only about food but also about culture, tradition, and community.

We are committed to sustainability and supporting local farmers, ensuring that our ingredients are fresh and responsibly sourced. As we continue to grow, we hope to bring more of our heritage to the world, one
